Flat Water Kayaking

A Typical Session:  Meet the instructor at the venue; here you will be issued with the appropriate clothing and equipment. You will then be given an introduction to your boat and brief safety talk. As we want you to spend as much time on the water as possible, the instruction on the shore will be kept to a minimum. Once on the water the instructor will teach you the basics to get going and introduce some exercises to increase your confidence in your kayak. Depending on your interests and skills as a group, the instructor will then introduce a mixture of activities. These may include games, a short journey to an island or from the lake onto a river, learning a new skill or developing existing ones. Near the end of the session the instructor will give you an opportunity to get wet - so if you want try a capsize, an Eskimo rescue or jump from the jetty, this is the time! Once the boats are back in the trailer and you're back in dry clothes, you can enjoy a well-deserved hot drink.
