Raft Building
Using barrels, wooden spars and rope, the group must build their own raft, launch it and successfully propel it on the water. Here is an activity where careful planning, good co-operation, co-ordination of effort and time keeping, have a very noticeable effect on the success of the task, i.e. how dry the team stay!
A Typical Session:Meet the instructor at the venue; here you will be issued with the appropriate clothing and equipment. You'll be given an introduction to the rafting equipment, explore some ideas on rafts, get a few top tips then receive a safety briefing. Your team will then need to plan and design your raft. Once you have a plan you can start to build. With all the rafts built it will be time to launch, practice maneuvering your craft and learn to coordinate your team. After practice the instructors will introduce a number of difference races to get your competitive juices going. With all the equipment is returned and you changed there is an opportunity for a well earned hot drink.
